“The Digital India program is a flagship program of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and a knowledge economy.”
Digital India is a wonderful Initiative by the government of India under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. It is a mélange of a number of ideas and programs laid down with a common goal- Digitalization of India. Our decisive leader Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of the program is- “We want to have one mission and target: Take the nation forward- Digitally and Economically.” In simple terms, it is designed to connect all gram panchayats by broadband internet, strengthen e-Governance and transform India into a connected knowledge economy. The vision also aims at furnishing better product services, manufacturing electronics, promoting Make-in-India, improving and generating job opportunities, etc.
To strengthen, monitor and track the functioning of this program, a separate committee is also designed. The key elements of the committee are – Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for program-level policy decisions, Monitoring Committee on Digital India under the Chairpersonship of Prime Minister and Digital India Advisory Group headed by the Minister of Communications and IT.
To promote and spread awareness of this program, Digital India Week is launched on 1st July 2015. In this weeklong event, every day a new e-Governance program will be made public, which will include: Digital Locker, eHospital, National Scholarship Portal, Swachh Bharat Mission App, etc. Read: https://www.financialexpress.com/article/economy/prime-minister-narendra-modis-digital-india-project-8-things-to-know/92649/.
