‘360 degree of Contract Manufacturing’ was the theme, title, and focus of the first conference of contract manufacturing by Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA). The conference was also attended by the contract providers, contract manufacturers, regulators, packagers, shippers and software service providers including BatchMaster Software in order to update and exceed the current contract manufacturing requirements and science-based systems approach in Pharmaceutical Industry.
The seminar was a great and edifying platform that brought together ideas, technologies and innovations, business opportunities, trends and challenges and above all people of this industry.
Many eminent people from the industry shared their views on trends and problems of contract manufacturing. They agreed that there’s a big market which is expanding with its own set of inherent drivers and challenges. But the industry as a whole is more concerned about the quality and data integrity. Contract providers are mostly in a state of doubt, i.e. whether the contract manufacturers are following expected standards and GMPs, are maintaining documentations and above all are meeting compliance. To remove this obscurity related to the documentation and regulatory requirements, a software system is the need of the hour that instills trust, reduces the communication gap, offers transparency and provides assurance that the hard earned brand value of both the parties is not at stake. More and more contract manufacturers (CMs), working with thin margins, are now realizing that an ERP is a way to take the 360-degree approach towards harnessing the evident growth of the industry.
BatchMaster Software participated in the event to exhibit its complete, affordable and pharma-specific product – Process Manufacturing ERP. The product offers best-of-breed, highly specialized features packed together to meet the peculiar distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, financial and compliance needs of the CMs. It is one product that handles everything from sales and delivery to planning and procurement, formulation and batch processing, as well as inventory and cash flow.
The overwhelming response, queries and requests for demos made us instantly realize the growing awareness and curiosity of the CMs for an ERP. Their interest grew knowing that our product offers speedy lot traceability and recall capabilities, supports supplier verification and has inbuilt QC, QA, COA, BMR and CAPA capabilities. Numerous walk-ins on the stall were surprised to see that the product understands the concept of and handles differently manufacturing of tablets, soft gels, injections, and syrups, etc. Our services also fetched their attention as we provide implementation, training and documentation, annual maintenance as well as 24×7 support.
